Adam Garwood
Historic Buildings Surveyor
Adam started his career in 1987 working as a field archaeologist for the North Hertfordshire Field Archaeology Unit. In 1992 he moved to Essex County Council Field Archaeology Team, initially employed as a field project officer, but increasingly diversified into survey and historic building recording. Between 2003-2012 Adam was employed by Essex County Council Historic Environment Team as their Historic Buildings Records Officer and thereafter as part of the Historic Environment Management Team (now Place Services) providing specialist planning advice, focused on applications relating to the built environment, to four local planning authorities in Essex. In 2012 Adam joined PCA as their Senior Historic Buildings and Landscapes Officer and routinely completes built heritage surveys (levels 1-4), heritage statements and building assessments covering an extensive range of building types on a national level.
