Cate has worked in professional archaeology for over 30 years, on sites across Britain for the National Trust and a range of archaeological units across the UK, as well as overseas, on the Ancient Merv Project in Central Asia. She joined PCA in 1995 as a field archaeologist, before gradually moving into illustration, design and communication.
As Head of Creative & Communications, Cate leads PCA’s creative and digital work and oversees marketing and public-facing heritage communication. She specialises in graphics, illustration and publication photography, while also working across typography, print design and indexing. Cate is responsible for the design and production of PCA’s monograph series and other in-house publications, and is regularly commissioned to produce publication design and monographs for external clients.
