Finds Manager

Märit has been working since 1997 for PCA, where she is currently Finds Manager and specialist of post-Roman metal and small finds. She is an established specialist in early medieval metalwork, with commissions including the exhibition “Weapons and Warriors” at the Sutton Hoo Visitor’s Centre, for The National Trust in 2002. She has published articles in major national and international journals, with a contribution on ‘Image and Power’ for the new Oxford Handbook of Anglo-Saxon Archaeology published in 2011. Märit’s current work has covered a wide variety of projects, including the Saxon and medieval finds from Stoke Quay in Ipswich, manufacturing waste from the 18th-century Battersea Enamel Works and the coffin fittings and dress accessories from a Quaker burial ground in North Shields on the River Tyne.
