Carys Dunkley

Conservator

Carys first joined PCA in 2021 as a field archaeologist after completing a BSc in Archaeology with Forensic Science. In 2022, she began studying Conservation and spent the following years working in the UK and abroad as an object conservator. As well as her contract at a museum, her experience includes field conservation on archaeological sites, most notably the Bisenzio Project in 2024, during the discovery of the necropolis and associated grave goods. Carys rejoined PCA in 2025 as Conservator and has since been responsible for stabilising and treating objects from ongoing PCA sites and the archive. When not undertaking conservation treatments, she works on site or supports the Finds and Archive teams in the Cambridge office, carrying out tasks such as publication photography.
