Valerio Pinna

Geospatial Data Manager
Valerio has worked in archaeology since 2007, taking part in various commercial and research projects in Sardinia, Italy and in the UK.
Before moving to the UK, in 2014, he collaborated on several research projects with the LASP – Laboratory of Palaeoethnology of the University of Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy), performing the role of head of geomatics and GIS analyst.
He has always had a focus of interest in Geographic Information Systems and, more generally, in technologies and informatics as applied to archaeology.
He is an active member of the FOSS (Free Open-Source Software) community, actively collaborating on several projects, for some of which he is also among the main translators for the Sardinian and Italian languages. Valerio moved to PCA in 2022 to manage and streamline the company’s archaeological data, develop and manage PCA’s GIS-based systems and oversee the development and roll out of PCA’s new Digital Recording Systems.
